Iceland is only a stone’s throw from America’s East Coast. For many U.S. travelers, the island is both a unique destination to be enjoyed on its own and as a stepping stone to Europe, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Many pleasures await those who visit: Reykjavich’s plentiful  restaurants, cultural venues, night clubs and fun-loving people; surreal landscapes; glacier-covered volcanoes; lava fields, hot springs; and coastlines dotted with tiny villages. The island offers great road tripping, hiking, biking, beach combing, horseback riding and spas as wells as snow skiing. snow boarding and ice climbing in winter.

Following is a sample of images from our two trips to this alluring destination.
