Iceland is only a stone’s throw from America’s East Coast. For many U.S. travelers, the island is both a unique destination to be enjoyed on its own and as a stepping stone to Europe, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Many pleasures await those who visit: Reykjavich’s plentiful  restaurants, cultural venues, night clubs and fun-loving people; surreal landscapes; glacier-covered volcanoes; lava fields, hot springs; and coastlines dotted with tiny villages.
